Elected 2011 Andrew Crutchfield was born and raised in Robbins, Illinois, a small town in the south suburban Chicago area. He graduated from H.L. Richards High School in Oak Lawn, Illinois .After meeting his wife Janice, a native of Freeport, he had the opportunity to visit Freeport and quickly realized this would be an ideal place to raise their blended family consisting of six daughters and a son. Since living in Freeport, Andrew has been very active as a member of the community. He is currently a faithful member of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ where he serves as president of the ushers and also as the Holiday Program Coordinator. He has also served on the Neighborhood Fundraising Committee which was very vital in the reopening of the Boys and Girls Club of Freeport/Stephenson County. Andrew has ties throughout the City of Freeport by living in the 5th Ward, having a business with his wife in the 3rd Ward, and working in the 7th Ward at Slumberland Furniture which utilizes his over 15 years of retail sales experience. Andrew believes the City should explore different methods of creating economic development in areas emphasizing tourism, computer technology, and information technology. He also believes the community needs more “unity”. He will look for ways to unite all areas of the city to in an effort towards one common goal benefiting the City as a whole. Andrew is a strong supporter of our Police and Fire Department because he feels they are the backbone of our city. He believes we should provide tax incentives to new businesses in our city, continue to work to maintain our infrastructure, and to learn to take care of ourselves realizing that no one will save us. In summary Andrew said, “I consider it an honor and a privilege to represent all residents of Freeport and will do so to the best of my ability with honesty and integrity.” To Contact Alderperson Crutchfield, please call 815-231-6861, email him at acrutchfield@cityoffreeport.org or facebook.com/AldermanCrutchfield
