Denny Endress was born and raised in Freeport, Illinois, and graduated from Aquin Catholic High School. He has been married to his wife, Elizabeth, for over 25 years and they have one son, Thomas.

Denny is retired from Kelly Springfield, after working there for 31 years. His retirement provides the opportunity and time to be involved in many different things such as coaching the Freeport High School Bowling Team, being president of the Men's Bowling Association, and a member of the Illinois State Bowling Board.

Denny was originally appointed to the council to fulfill a term in the 5th Ward. He then was elected to the position in 2007 and again in 2011. He also currently serves on the Freeport/Stephenson County Convention and Visitors Bureau Board.

When asked how Denny will serve the community and the residents of the 5th Ward Denny said, "I will work to keep our ward a safe community for people to live and do whatever I can to help the City of Freeport flourish."
